Hi! welcome to our adventure, let me tell you a little bit about my family as i’m sure you will want to know who you will be traveling with
My name is Rebekah, I married my “good ole boy” Kaden on Dec, 10 2011, we had our first little blessing on April, 15 2013 we named her Klairah Lynn.
A brief history 2006-2012
When I was at the young age of 19 I started my journey. I got an apartment, leased a vehicle (a mini van) and started living! I made some very poor money choices that has left me with very poor credit… My husband had somewhat similar situation although he never left home. We both did not have the example of how to manage our money, that is why after a year of marriage, and a little one taking form we decided we needed to make a change.
The Change March 2013
We decided to cut our living expenses and move closer to my family, in fact my grandmother owned a triplex and one of her 1 bedroom units were available for $350 a month!! so we uprooted, my husband was without a job but I loved my job and decided i wouldn’t mind driving 60 mins one way 4 days a week, so we made the move.
I don’t think my sweet husband or I realized how hard it would be to transition from a 3 bedroom home with a garage into a 1 bedroom apartment with no garage, but we have since adjusted
Another Change July 2013
Returning to work after maternity leave has been very hard, I have to leave my baby, there are new associates and A LOT of changes at work, the 2 hour round-trip commute is exhausting and is costing $20 a day, insurance deductions are tripled, and on top of everything I have a wage garnish from one of my “stupid moves” when i was younger. By the time I payout childcare $100 a week (which is CHEAP!) and all those other expenses; my $12.60 an hour job is not worth it. Soooo I’m staying home!!!
In order for me to be able to stay home I need to bring in some income so here we are, this blog is going to be my diary on how I save money, make money, apartment living, and paying off debt and saving for our dreams… oh wait I didn’t even tell you what our dreams were :-)
We want the american dream, beautiful house in the country, animals for our children to raise, a garden, to be self employed, to raise our children to be wise with their money, and to be financially secured so we can help others in need…
